The state house Health and Human Services committee approved a bill that would require minors to get notarized consent from a parent or guardian in order to be treated for an STD, pregnancy, substance abuse, or emotional disturbance. Current law requires consent only for abortions. The bill includes exceptions where federal healthcare funding prohibits such restrictions, and in cases of emergency. The bill next heads to the full house.
