A recently discovered live Grateful Dead recording is headed to stores. says back in April 1970 the iconic band performed at the Great Highway in San Francisco, under the lengthy pseudonym Mickey Hart and His Heartbeats and Bobby Ace and His Cards from the Bottom of the Deck. 

The group turned in 17 songs in their 80-minute performance.  Their show included a mix of originals, traditionals, and cover tunes, including "Friend of the Devil," "I Know You Rider," and "Wake Up Little Susie."  Band member Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, who died in 1973, closed the show with a six-song solo acoustic set.  

Family Dog at the Great Highway, San Francisco, CA 4/18/70 will be released as a limited edition two-disc vinyl album at participating outlets on Friday, November 29th, for Record Store Day's Black Friday event.  The material will also be available as a CD through
