Billie Joe Armstrong Says This Green Day Song Is 'Too Hard' To Play Live

Green Day Play Auckland

The members of Green Day have decades of performance experience under their belts, but that doesn't mean there aren't songs that they think are too hard to play live. For Billie Joe Armstrong, "Panic Song" off 1995's Insomniac is one of those tracks.

The Green Day frontman has been sharing videos of fans covering the band's songs on Instagram to close out the year, and had an interesting exchange with a follower after posting a cover of "Macy's Day Parade."

"Billie why you never played PANIC SONG live? That song is pure fire," a fan commented on the video, and not only did the rockstar respond, but he was also bluntly honest.

"it's too hard and I'm too lazy," he admitted.

Check out the post and hilarious interaction below.

The punk rock legends were in the giving spirit this year, and recently donated $2,000 to help cover damage costs after a 17-year-old promoter booked a raucous concert at a California Denny's that ended up going viral.

Green Day are gearing up to release their 13th studio album Father of All... on February 9, 2020, and then plan to embark on the Hella Mega Tour— a massive stadium tour with Weezer and Fall Out Boy— over the summer. Tickets to the tour are available now.
