Newly acquired Minnesota Vikings left tackle Cam Robinson is expected to play in the team's Week 9 Sunday Night Football game against the Indianapolis Colts, despite having practiced with the team for the team just three days prior, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
"Despite practicing with Minnesota for the first time Thursday, left tackle Cam Robinson is expected to make his Vikings debut tonight vs. the Colts," Schefter wrote on his X account.
The Jacksonville Jaguars traded Robinson and a conditional 2026 seventh-round draft pick to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick last Wednesday (October 30). The Jaguars will also reportedly pay $7 million of the $10 million remaining on Robinson's contract as part of the trade agreement, ESPN's Field Yates reported at the time.
"To facilitate the trade of Cam Robinson to the Vikings, the Jaguars absorbed just over $7M of his remaining base salary, per source. The Vikings will owe Robinson $2M in base salary plus $58,824 for each game he is active for the rest of this season," Yates wrote on his X account.
Robinson was acquired by the Vikings days after left tackle Christian Darrisaw suffered a season-ending torn ACL and MCL during last week's Thursday Night Football loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The 29-year-old started in seven of the Jaguars' first eight games, but missed last Sunday's (October 27) game against the Green Bay Packers.
Robinson spent his entire career with the Jaguars after being selected at No. 34 overall in the second-round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The former Alabama standout has made 91 starts in 91 games.
