Carolina Ballet's Lilyan Vigo has been a professional dancer for 20 years and is retiring after her next show. She came in for a visit to discuss the upcoming production of her last show, Carmen.
Set in Seville Spain, Carmen is a story of love, betrayal and adventure that follows the story of Carmen who gets arrested and falls for the officer who arrested her.
The show, originally written as a 4-part opera, was re-imagined by the Carolina Ballet. Listen to what Vigo had to say about the process of these changes, her retirement and what she's looking forward to in the future.
