Shane Hawkins was busy in the UK last week. Over the weekend, Taylor Hawkins' son joined Supergrass onstage during their set at The Great Estate festival to help them perform their debut single, 1995's "Caught By The Fuzz." The English rockers were famously one of Taylor's favorite bands and performed during the tribute concert for the Foo Fighters' late drummer at Wembley Stadium.
Shane was already performing at the festival with The Alive, but his appearance with Supergrass was a surprise. Their choice of song was a fitting one — Taylor had also played that song with Supergrass.
Watch fan-shot footage of the performance below.
Earlier in the week, the 17-year-old drummer revealed what Foo Fighters song his dad liked playing the most. Shane participated in a drum clinic at The Dead Famous bar in Newquay, England on May 29 and before performing explained how “people say that song ‘Aurora’ was [Taylor's] favorite to play, but that’s a lie.” He then revealed that "Low" off One by One was actually his dad's favorite song to play live but it rarely made it on the setlist. Shane went on to speculate why he thought frontman Dave Grohl didn't like to perform the 2002 track, admitting it was hard to play on guitar. Then, he played the drum part of that song for the audience.
