Right on the heels of their Ozzy Osbourne tribute performance at the VMAs earlier this month, Aerosmith has once again teamed up with Yungblud for their first new music in over a decade.
The collaboration titled, "My Only Angel," is part of a five-track EP titled One More Time, set to be released on November 21st, and marks Aerosmith's first musical release since their 2012 album, Music From Another Dimension!
"My Only Angel" began when Yungblud invited Aerosmith to join him in the studio for a guest spot on his song "Hello Heaven, Hello." The chemistry between them led to the creation of the EP, which includes four original tracks and a new mix of the Aerosmith classic "Back in the Saddle." The new song combines Steven Tyler's classic vocals with modern instrumentation, reminiscent of Aerosmith's Just Push Play era.
In a statement, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler shared of the collaboration, "Making music with Yungblud has been like plugging into pure electricity. Here's this kid who grew up on our records, and now we’re in the studio together creating something that bridges generations. When we sang together for the first time, I could feel that same fire that drove us when we were starting out in Boston. Yungblud is writing the next chapter in rock history—and we’re honored to write it with him. Rock and roll is timeless when you pour your heart and soul into it."
Joe Perry added, "You know it’s special when you pick up your guitar and the energy in the room completely shifts. Working with Yungblud reminded us why we fell in love with rock and roll in the first place—it’s raw, it’s rebellious and it refuses to be tamed. These new songs have teeth, and that’s exactly what rock needs right now. This is Aerosmith doing what we do best: pushing forward, while staying true to who we are."
This collaboration comes after Aerosmith's decision to retire from touring due to Steven Tyler's vocal injury, which led to the cancellation of their 'Peace Out' farewell tour. Despite this, Tyler and Joe Perry have made several appearances at special events, including a recent performance at the Hollywood Bowl with the Joe Perry Project.
The upcoming EP 'One More Time' signifies a new chapter for Aerosmith, with fans eagerly anticipating the full release in November.
