Elton John's 'Farewell, Yellow Brick Road' tour is both goodbye tour and a retirement plan by the looks of a recent deal he made with Disney+ for the film rights.

The Rocket Man sold his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years That Made His Legend film to Disney for an estimated $30 million, according to Deadline.

The film is billed as "the official feature" of the iconic British popstar, featuring "unseen concert footage of him over the past 50 years," including handwritten journal entries and present day footage of the icon behind-the-scenes with his family.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road will hit the film festival scene and be screened in select theaters before being made available for Disney+ subscribers.

The film was directed by R.J. Cutler and Elton's husband, filmmaker David Furnish.

A spokesperson for Disney called it a "great honor" to be entrusted with such a "captivating" document on "one of the world's most beloved and prolific artists."

Furnish himself added that Cutler was the perfect collaborator for the film that "represents more than just Elton's career. It's his life, from the Troubadour to Dodger Stadium. We knew that R.J. would help guide Elton's story and its many layers in a way that feels authentic and evocative. We're ecstatic to be working together."

The documentary follows John's hit 2019 Rocketman biopic and his autobiography ME.

Elton John's 'Farewell, Yellow Brick Road' tour is expected to continue abroad through the summer of 2023. His final U.S. tour date is set for November 11 at Dodgers Stadium.
